Is craft on the increase?

Is it me or may be just the sign of the times but everyone seems to be considering turning their talent or hobby into a craft business.

I will be utterly honest and just don't have the skill for crafts. I brought some books about knitting and sewing and have grasped the basics, but I don't have a natural flair or talent like others.

I do see the attraction, coming home from work and relaxing working on something you have created. It's heart warming and probably very good for health reducing all those stress levels.

But i have noticed a real up take in crafts. It could be down to the recession, having to make do with what you have, rather than hitting the high streets for a new clothing or accessories.

You would be surprised at just changing a few buttons can lift an outfit or up selling your own products seems to be the next best thing at the moment.

Not only that craft fairs are a heaven for real talent out there, I am amazed by the craftmenship  that has gone into the products for sale.

Esty and other online shopping sites have enabled craft sellers to have a great online platform, to sell their products on.

I have even looked into having commission work done, not expensive stuff but just for items I can't find on the high street.

CraftShowUK are organising homemade, craft events and fairs around the uk to meet visitors going interest in to professional well crafted items. Find out more at http://www.craftshowuk.co.uk
